A little about me; my name is Brett Davis, and I graduated in December '07 from the AAU. My wife, Brianne and I live in Mountain View, CA. We enjoy the outdoors, hiking, and just getting away. I myself enjoy fishing, am an avid gamer, love all things concerning illustration and animation (of course), and collect toys. We are involved in the church we attend, Oak Grove Baptist in San Jose, where I lead the morning music.
My journey as an animator has taken what I would call the scenic route. It begen when I first saw Jurassic Park. I remember standing in line for what seemed like ages. The moment I saw the T-Rex break through the powerless electrical fence, I knew I had to be a part of this. The journey took a few years of self study and three degrees to get to this point, but I wouldn't trade any of my experiences. It was all worth it.
My inspiration comes from many different places. I grew up watching Looney Tunes every Saturday morning. I still laugh obnoxiously at the gags. The talents of Chuck Jones, Tex Avery, Bob Clampett or Hanna and Barbera; their mastery of animation will always be one of the first places I go to for inspriation.

And like many other animators I gain inspiration from many other movies like Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and the various Pixar films. I'm always looking for something new to soak up and fuel my animator's fire.
I also love to draw. From the time I can remember, I always had a pencil in my hand. When I should have been paying attention in school, I was either drawing on my book covers or copying comic book pages in a sketchbook. Today I've fallen in love with the illustration masters from America's golden age of illustration. The work of Norman Rockwell, J.C. Leyendecker and the various pulp fiction artists of the time are some of my favorites.
My faith is also important to me. Probably one of the most important areas of my life. It's not always the most important, but it's part of what drives me every day. It's what gets me up in the morning, gives me the strength to be the best I can be in all areas of my life. I'm not perfect by any means, but it's the grace of Christ that keeps me going each day.
Thanks again for stopping by.
